Ashley Simmons

We all have a story. The good, the bad, and the ugly are all parts that make us who we are and how we see the world. So here's a little good, bad and down right embarrassing from me!

I was born and raised in the Deep South to a Momma that knew how to cook and a Daddy that knew how to fish and shrimp. I was lucky to grow up surrounded by a family who loved me.

Raised Southern Baptist, I was saved at five, baptized at eight, and a sword drill afficianado at nine.

In my youth group I was a proud (hand selected) member of the youth council meeting every Saturday for more Bible study and accountability than those average Christians. A purity culture poster child, I kissed dating goodbye (thanks Joshua Harris) and proudly signed my name on the True Love Waits pledge!

A "good girl" through and through, I spent my college summers "hanging off the side of a mountain", as my mother describes, at a Christian Wilderness Camp and a white water raft guide.

After college I began my 17 year career as a Neonatal ICU Nurse traveling the country until I married my husband, Miles (Aw!). We have three kids that keep us on our toes and currently live back in my home town.

After my faith crumbled in front of me a few years ago, we landed at a very small, very kind Episcopal church that we love. I also enjoy having church on Friday nights with Shannon and her crew at the Mexican restaurant, downing margaritas and laughs. Life is a lot of things, but Friday night margaritas make it so much better!

Thanks for spending time with us, we're so glad you're here!
